Self Referral

Most referrals to other specialists will require you seeing or speaking with a GP. However, there are a number of local services, listed below, that you are able to make self referrals to. Some services may not be available in your area.

Antenatal care

When you have had a positive pregnancy test you can self-refer to receive a booking appointment with the Maternity Unit of your choice. Maternity Units within the NHSCT are based at Antrim Area Hospital site or Causeway Hospital Coleraine.

Contraceptive and Sexual Health Services

The Northern Trust’s Contraceptive and Sexual Health Service is free and open to everyone. We offer a confidential service which includes access to information and advice, testing, treatment and contraception to people of all ages.

Condition Management Programme Team

Are you struggling to start or remain in work due to a physical and/or mental health condition? If yes, then the Condition Management Programme (CMP) could help you. This is a 12 week programme of short, work focused, cognitive educational interventions aimed at helping clients to understand and manage their health conditions. A multidisciplinary team of health professionals work together to offer clients help and support to cope with single or multiple health conditions.

Occupational Therapy Learning Disability Service

The Community Occupational Therapy Adult Learning Disability Service provides interventions to adults over 18 who have been formally assessed as having a learning disability. The service operates as per of the multi-disciplinary teams within four locations: Antrim/Ballymena, East Antrim, Mid Ulster and Causeway.
